My gambas is ded!!!!!

when I try to open gambas2 in the terminal, I get this error:
arbelmichal@arbelmichal-desktop:~$ gambas2
ERROR: #2: Cannot load class 'Project': Unable to load class file

what happened?????

How did you tried to install Gambas ? What is your linux distribution ?

I moved the thread here as this is an installation issue.

The only thing that I could find that might prove useful is this topic at the Ubuntu forum:

Someone in the thread also suggested maybe going to and following the instructions at

http://gambas.sourceforge.net/

"go to 'getting started', 'installation page', 'Ubuntu' (or select your Linux install if in the list)".

Nothing is working! I tried every thing. in my other computer the upgrade of gambas went grate. I don't know what is wrong! I tried to install through the terminal and through the synaptic and I steal getting the same @#%$ error! I want my Gambas back!!!! :'(

i had the same prob..

if you use Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex)

1- go to Synaptic > search for : libtool (and check for complete uninstall)
2- Download older version of libtool here :

and install it.
3- reinstall Gambas2

4- IMPORTANT don't upgrade libtool from update manager

You were already told what file to get, do a search on google for it and you will get plenty of download links to choose from.

I am not angry, I am frastrated I am not screaming at people, I am screaming at my evil gambas! I downlaoded the file. It won't work. I tried to install and aninstall a couple of times and I think I am doing something wrong. I only wish I knew what is it that I am doing wrong...

I am sorry to hear that you are still having such a hard time. Is there anyway you can try a re-installation? Or create a new partition and install another distro and see if you have any luck there?

Also, have you tried asking at the Gambas Mailing list about your problem?
